Mr. Trump, you need a lesson from Pope Francis.
Dear Mr. Trump,
As people of faith, we are disturbed by your recent comments denigrating immigrants, women, and the poor.
Pope Francis has called for us to build bridges to make a home for immigrants and the excluded, yet you say, "we need to build a wall, and it has to be built quickly.”
You say that there is no such thing as being too greedy, but Pope Francis says that money and greed are idols that stand in the way justice and the common good.
Pope Francis will come to visit our nation next month, and we pray that you take the time to learn from him and respond to his plea that politicians be “genuinely disturbed by the state of society, the people, the lives of the poor."
