Dear Common Good Media Activist:

Our media experts drafted the letter to highlight Catholic social justice messaging: the need to remember the most vulnerable in our society, not just a select few.

Submitting the letter to the editor is easy:

* Copy and paste the boilerplate letter to the editor into an email from your personal account.
* Make sure you include your name and your hometown.

BOILERPLATE LETTER TO THE EDITOR

Dear Editor:

Let's end the partisan bickering and ideological fistfights in the battle over the economic stimulus bill. We can't afford politics as usual during the worst economic crisis our nation has faced since the Great Depression. As the government doles out billion-dollar bailouts to Wall Street bankers, working-class families are losing jobs, retirement savings and their belief in the American dream. It's time for bold, bipartisan action to ensure millions of families are not left further behind. As a faithful Catholic, I believe the stimulus must retain essential programs to help states avoid even deeper cuts to education, health care and critical social services that are lifelines for our most vulnerable citizens. A crisis is a terrible thing to waste. We now have a historic opportunity to rethink and rebuild our economy to serve the common good of all Americans, not simply the privileged few.

Your hometown

Best wishes,
