Catholics in Alliance for the Common Good congratulates Michael Steele on his election to chairman of the Republican National Committee. We applaud his commitment to upholding a consistent ethic of life and look forward to his leadership on behalf of social justice, human dignity and the common good. We will continue to challenge Democrats and Republicans alike to promote values at the heart of a just society, including ensuring health care for all, living wages, an end to the death penalty, and policies that will reduce the number of abortions through support for pregnant women and vulnerable families. These are issues that will require bipartisan commitment and moral urgency.
