The media continues to be flooded with stories of the economic crisis. The majority of the country is feeling the pressures of budget cuts, high unemployment rates, housing foreclosures, and services to those most in need are under significant pressure. In response, directors of works, educators, campus ministers, and concerned individuals from the Detroit, Wisconsin, and Chicago Province of the Society of Jesus will gather Friday evening July 17th thru Sunday morning, July 19th, to reflect and discuss the local impact of the economic crisis on the upper mid-western region and identify ways the faith community and Ignatian family can respond. The conference is sponsored by the Ignatian Solidarity Network and hosted by Loyola Chicago University.

Invited Speakers include:

* Kim Bobo, Founder and Executive Director of the Interfaith Worker Justice

* Rev. Dan Hartnett, S.J., Visiting Professor. PhD, University of Chicago. Areas of research: social philosophy, especially social justice.

* John Neafsey PsyD, Practicing clinical psychologist, adjunct faculty member of the Theology Department at Loyola University Chicago
