Today is the Feast of the Holy Family, but evidently Congress didn't get the memo.

Because of a bad policy decision, our leaders in Washington have failed to extend unemployment benefits for 1.3 million Americans without work.

For this travesty to happen during the midst of the holiday season is especially jaw dropping.

What's worse? The two constructors of this proposal are both Catholic: Representative Paul Ryan and Senator Patty Murray.

This is completely unacceptable, and we're going to do something about it.

Will you sign this petition telling Congress to extend the unemployment benefits immediately? Let's make sure that Washington knows that the Catholic Church believes that the budget can never be balanced on the backs of the poor.
